Digilifes Articles - Talking about the camera, our minds are directly divided into two, namely SLR cameras and pocket cameras. Both models are well known and so far no new models are developed in addition to the two.
SLR cameras, with a large size, have the ability to produce high quality images for large sensor SLR camera is capable of sending more detailed picture data to its chips. In terms of practicality, because the large size, SLR cameras require a large space in our bags to be carried on our journey, or if it does not stored in the bag, we need a camera strap to hang around our neck.
It is more practical to take pocket camera anywhere because of its small size. Pocket cameras do not require a large space in our bag; even you can just put in your pocket. But, if we want to take a picture full of detail with good results, then the pocket cameras is not the right choice. Images produced by a pocket camera will not be as good as images resulted from a SLR camera.
In digital cameras, the resulting picture quality can be seen from its pixel size. The larger pixels, the resulting picture will improve. Digital pocket cameras are generally sized from 3 to 5 megapixels, but digital SLR cameras are usually between 10 to 12 megapixels.
Is there a pocket camera with SLR equivalent capabilities?
Responding to the need of a SLR-capable pocket camera, Nikon released Nikon D5000. This digital camera has a size of a pocket camera, weighing only about 700 grams. Nikon D5000 is also capable of recording high-definition video and even has an HDMI jack for connection to a small HDTV. Unfortunately, HDMI cable is not included in the sales package. You have to look for it yourself in the market.
Nikon D5000 has features like an SLR camera with interchangeable lens. Just compare the D5000 features with models like the D60 SLR camera or the D90. D5000 has a 12.3 megapixel sensor size (wow!), which ensures high image quality, 11 point autofocus system, and the burst rate of 4.5 shots per second. With such capabilities, you can use this digital camera to take focused pictures or take pictures of a fast-moving action, like a football game.
To take a picture using the D5000, you can choose to use the viewfinder or the live view mode with the flip-out screen that can be rotated to allow you to take photos from different angles and even took a self photograph.
Like pocket cameras or consumer camera, the scene mode settings are as easy to understand with a sample picture for pets, snow, beach or sunset. Other settings such as aperture and shutter speed are also displayed in a way that is more easily understood by amateurs.
Nikon D5000 is available in the market at a price of about U.S. $ 850.
