Digilifes Articles - Rapid advancement of video games technology have brought us to think of an idea about how the direction of its future development. In the end, this is part of the creative process that develops with the advancement of digital technology. Commodore's "Pong" video is one of the earliest games that we can remember, was the first coin-op arcade game and mainstream video games available for almost everyone. Currently the video game industry has reached a point that we never thought about before.
In the future, it is possible that the development of video game technology will come to a point that really out of mind even our imagination now. If we fantasize about the technological sophistication of video games in the future, we may be interested in playing video games which really involve us in it as if we're in an environment where the game took place.
The closest possible start is the use of "Sun Game Glasses". It's interesting if by wearing a pair of dark sunglasses, we can literally watch the game that happened right in front of our eyes and then interact with it using a pen-sized device. This is not a new idea, and probably in its way to reality.
Another cool idea we want to see exploding in the gaming industry is the ability to talk to characters in a game. Some games already allow players to textually speak with game characters, and may in the future we can verbally interact with characters: ask questions, joke, warning and talk to them as if we're talking to another human being. And we want to hear these characters talk back! Fantastic is not it? If this is true, I am sure this will be a hit when it will then be available on a large scale.
Could we play in the simulation environment as the characters in Star Trek: The Next Generation playing? Virtual reality technology is getting closer, but putting on the silly-looking goggles and gloves will certainly miss the reality of simulations. It will be great if there will be as little as possible barriers between gamers and game so that gamers not only in the game environment but really felt like they were in the game environment.
Television or computer screen will be enough for now, but in the future, we will want to be surrounded by the elements that make us really feel in the game play environment. We want a new world in our own bedroom, either a virtual starship and or jungle, by playing games.
One of the obstacles to bringing this fantasy into our family room is public acceptance. Is the public ready to accept the entertainment at a very high level? Something new course will bring good and bad effects by itself. As a result, we can imagine the introduction of a number of laws that restrict the use of fantasy games because they were considered to have certain consequences to society.
